The short version: the Jusmoni app reads your money alerts on your phone and never sends them anywhere. It can't, because it has no internet access. The only things we receive are what you choose to type into the feedback or early access forms on this website.

Who we are

Jusmoni ("we") is an independent app made in Ghana, published on Google Play by acquayefrank, and is responsible for the data described here. For any question about your data, or to have it deleted, emailinfo@jusmoni.com.

The Jusmoni app

What it reads

With your permission, the app reads the SMS on your phone (Android's READ_SMSpermission). It goes through your inbox on the phone and keeps only alerts from the mobile money and bank senders it knows, such as MTN MoMo. Messages from people are skipped, and nothing from them is stored. It never sends SMS, never deletes them and never becomes your messaging app.

What it keeps, and where

From each money alert it keeps the amount, date, fees, balance, the name of the person or business, and a reference to the message, in a database on your phone. Categories and labels you add are stored there too.

What leaves your phone

Nothing. The app has no internet permission, so it can't upload your messages, your transactions or anything else. It has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. Its data is left out of Android's cloud backup.

Google Play, which installs and updates the app, collects its own information underGoogle's privacy policy. Jusmoni doesn't receive it.

Removing your data

Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Android's Settings, and everything it stored is deleted. You can also turn off SMS access at any time in Settings, and the app stops reading.

If a future version adds a feature that needs the internet, it will be off until you turn it on, say exactly what it sends, and be added to this page first.

The feedback form

The feedback form asks about your phone, your banks and networks, and how the app worked for you. You can add screenshots of money messages. Before a screenshot is sent, you cover private details in your browser, and only the covered copy is uploaded. A WhatsApp number or email is optional and only used to ask about your answers.

Early access

The early access form asks for the email of your Google account and the banks or networks you use, and optionally a name, your phone model and Android version. We use the email to add you to the Google Play test and to write to you about Jusmoni.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects what the app collects, the app's release notes will say so.
